Advocacy + Collaboration
Our team members advocate on behalf of Emory on a wide range of issues impacting our institution, including higher education policy, health care, and research.
- We work closely with members of the US Congress and the Georgia General Assembly, city and county officials, and other government and community decision makers to advance Emory's important work.
- We serve as the official voice of Emory at the local, state, and federal levels.
- We promote Emory's contributions and serve as a resource for elected officials and their staffs.
- We partner with state and national professional associations to advance policy positions of interest.
- We submit Emory’s official comments and support letters on behalf of legislation and pending regulations.
We encourage Emory faculty, staff, and students, as well as other concerned citizens, to contact their elected representatives. And we can help pave the way.
If you find yourself testifying in the statehouse or on Capitol Hill for your association or on your own behalf, please clearly state that the views expressed in your testimony are yours alone and do not reflect an official Emory position.
Make sure to check in with our team if you are going to Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C., or the state house in Atlanta, and remember to check out our advocacy tips and policies. Similarly, if you wish to lend your expertise on a pending regulation or proposed legislation, please reach out to our team so we can ensure that your comments are submitted in a productive manner.
