Alex Wan
As the assistant vice president of community affairs, Alex Wan leads Emory's efforts to build strong, supportive partnerships with local government leaders and community organizations throughout metro Atlanta, advancing Emory's contribution, presence, and recognition as a higher education partner in the community.
Wan brings over fifteen years of Atlanta community service and engagement to this role. Prior to joining Emory, Wan served as the Executive Director of Horizons Atlanta, an education non-profit that provides tuition-free summer enrichment programs to metro Atlanta K-12 public school students. Additionally, Wan is currently serving his third term on the Atlanta City Council representing the intown neighborhoods of District 6.
Wan has an MBA in finance from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor of Industrial Engineering from Georgia Tech.
