Federal Update

On August 14, Emory welcomed U.S. Congresswoman Lucy McBath to the Emory Healthcare Veterans Program (EHVP). Rep. McBath met with clinical, administrative and patient support staff to learn about how the program treats the invisible wounds of war for post-9/11 veterans across the country. Rep. McBath and members of her staff toured the new Veterans Program space and experienced the virtual reality exposure therapy that is used in the program. Thank you Rep. McBath for your continued support of the EHVP.

State Update

On August 12, Emory proudly hosted members of the Georgia State Senate staff for a visit to the Emory Brain Health Center (BHC). The group had an opportunity to hear from Dr. Allan Levey, Chair of Neurology and Dr. Mark Rapaport, Chair of Psychiatry, on the groundbreaking work happening at the BHC. The group also heard from BHC Executive Administrator, Kevin Clark, about the future of the Brain Health Center and the many programs that Emory offers. We look forward to hosting a group from the Georgia State House of Representatives in October.
